This year, Dior Timepieces pays tribute to its esteemed founder with the launch of the Dior VIII collection and his lifelong adoration of architecture and precise numbers. An ode to all things eight, a number that is inextricably intertwined with the House of Dior, the new Christian Dior VIII collection offers watch collectors timelessly elegant, ultra-thin feminine works of art.
The name itself, Dior VIII, is cleverly made up of precisely eight characters, a nod to the superstitious couturier’s lucky number. Other historical milestones converge on that mysterious, elegant number: the couture house was founded in 1946 on October 8.
The Dior VIII Grand Bal Plume come to us in smouldering black ceramic, diamonds and white feathers; or in white ceramic, diamonds and blush-pink feathers: both equally alluring. Upon examining the sensuously round, ultra-feminine dial, you will notice the final reference to the collection’s name: the number 8 is the only one to appear in roman numerals at 8 ‘o’ clock!
Definitely a Glam piece of arm candy!
