This week the wonderful Michelle Hung of Virgosandkisses joined me for a Faux Fabulous themed Blogger Style Challenge. I really love Michelle’s style – very laid back shoreditch cool with a hint of punk (how many people do you know who can pull off blue lips and a nose ring and still look so fierce?!). Our personal styles are so different, which is why I thought it would be the perfect collaboration. Faux fur was a bit of a struggle for me – It turns out that the few fur pieces I own are not actually faux at all (usually the case with vintage) except for this gillet – an impulse purchase which I’ve never actually worn.

Michelle joined me for a coffee at the Grange Hotel where I had been shooting earlier that day. It was nice to finally meet up and I quickly discovered we had a few things  in common. We are both Brixtonites (although I have defected to north of the river now), we are both Virgo’s and we both have Nigerian partners. Michelle is of mixed heritage as am I (Vietnamese and Nigerian vs Jamaican and Indian) and we both share a passion for individual expression through writing and blogging. I really enjoy reading Michelle’s posts as it’s not just a hollow, bland commentary of observed trends like many blogs littering the net. It’s more of an online diary with a slice of fashion on the side.

Who do you think styled the faux fur theme best? Michelle in her mongolian scarf or me in my black and white fur gillet (similar here)? Let us know in the comments section below! Or, if you have a blog and want to get involved with the blogger style challenge, get in touch via the contacts page!

Special thanks to Both Manny and Cavella – our papps for the day! Oh, and in case you missed it, check out my previous style challenge with Abigail Ayoola of Twynkleloves.com HERE xoxo
