I tend to be a lazy dresser. I like items that aren’t too fussy, can be dressed up and down with accessories and are comfortable to wear day through to night. That’s why, after a great fitted dress my next go-to item is always a great fitting jumpsuit (third in line is usually a pencil skirt and loose shirt combo and after that we are in unchartered territory…)
I personally don’t like my jumpsuits to be too tight or too rigid. I usually opt for silky materials (think 70’s studio/ disco fabrics) that are quite lightweight as all in ones can chafe horrendously if you don’t have enough room. I bought this Zara jumpsuit earlier this year and I just love the fit. It’s so comfortable and can be worn in the day with flats and glammed up with a pair of minimal heels at night. On this occasion I wore my metallic pink Fabiana’s by Alexander Wang (without the cape on the heel), and a jewelled headband for that 70’s bling. These shoes were purchased well before the minimal shoe trend and so aren’t available in stores – but ebay is great and you may just find a bargain. I know a lot of retailers aren’t really doing metallic colours but I have spotted some over at Stuart Weitzman and Gianvito Rossi if that’s any help?
After shooting I noticed a massive faux pas though – forgot to take off my gold watch (which I literally wear with EVERYTHING) and so I ended up clashing with the silver hair piece. Maybe it’s a virgo thing – but that’s like mixing your nike and adidas – A big no no.
Below you’ll find a few jumpsuits I would recommend for effortless chic and maximum comfort!
